Before you write

If a book won't load, check your Wi-Fi — the app fetches book data online. If iCloud sync doesn't start, look in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → make sure "Vusch" is enabled under "Apps using iCloud".

Apple Intelligence missing although your iPhone is new enough? Two things to check: in iOS Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri, both the iPhone language and the Siri language need to be set to a supported language — English, German, French or Italian. And after turning it on, give the iPhone some time: the language model downloads in the background, ideally on Wi-Fi and plugged in. Until then it looks as if nothing works.
