Vusch uses several open-source typefaces and Apple system frameworks. Credits below.

Typefaces (all SIL Open Font License 1.1)

Playfair Display

Used as editorial italic for book titles, AI placements, classic quotes and cover placeholders.

Inter

© 2016 Rasmus Andersson (github.com/rsms/inter) — licensed under SIL OFL 1.1.

Used as body type, UI labels and editorial header wordmarks.

Anton

© 2011 The Anton Project Authors (Vernon Adams) (fonts.google.com/specimen/Anton) — licensed under SIL OFL 1.1.

Used for large numerals in the Library masthead and statistics spreads.

DM Mono

© 2019 Colophon Foundry, Mass-Driver (fonts.google.com/specimen/DM+Mono) — licensed under SIL OFL 1.1.

Used for monospaced caps labels, metadata (ISBN, page count), kicker text and mono accents.

Apple frameworks

Vusch uses exclusively Apple's own frameworks without third-party libraries:

• SwiftUI — UI framework
• SwiftData — local data persistence
• CloudKit — private iCloud sync
• FoundationModels (iOS 26+) — on-device AI
• Speech — on-device speech recognition
• VisionKit / AVFoundation — ISBN barcode scanning
• StoreKit 2 — In-App Purchases

These frameworks are governed by Apple's standard developer licence.

Book metadata APIs

Vusch fetches book metadata from these public APIs:

• Open Library — Internet Archive, non-profit, free
• Deutsche Nationalbibliothek — public service of the DNB
• Apple Books / iTunes Search — Apple API
• Google Books API — optional, only if an API key is configured

Book data and covers belong to their respective publishers and rights holders.

Quotes

The classic quotes on the Library home screen come from the work of public-domain authors — all deceased for more than 70 years: Goethe, Schiller, Heine, Nietzsche, Rilke, Kafka, Hölderlin, Hofmannsthal, Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Heraclitus, Confucius, Laotse, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Wilde, Twain, Dickens, Austen, Brontë, Pushkin, Hugo, Thoreau, Emerson, Whitman, Stifter, Fontane, Eichendorff, George, Wittgenstein, Lichtenberg, Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard, Poe, Andersen, Karl Kraus, Sophocles.
